The Plant:
Clove is an evergreen tree native to the Maluku Islands in Indonesia. It produces small, red flower buds which are harvested before they open and dried to create the familiar clove spice. The tree can grow up to 12 metres tall and is widely cultivated across Madagascar, Tanzania and Sri Lanka.
