Description

About the Plant:
Nepeta cataria, commonly known as catnip or catmint, is a perennial herb belonging to the mint family, native to Europe and Asia and now widely naturalised across North America. It has been used in herbal medicine for centuries for its calming, digestive and antispasmodic properties. The plant produces soft, grey-green leaves and small white flowers and has a distinctive aromatic scent that cats in particular find irresistible. Cats are not the only felines known to respond to catnip. Jaguars are even known to seek out and respond to related psychoactive plants in the wild.
